We had a wonderful trip to Oregon and were able to see a lot of family. We started off with Carl's side and a fun camping trip for his mom's 70th birthday party. We camped at Camp Alpine and had a lot of fun eating good food, swimming and zip-lining at the lake, watching and participating in a talent show, and getting
to visit with everyone. Uncle Ken created these cool bugs that sing to each other and their eyes light up. The kids were able to decorate them and the blue one was Laura's while Grace created the red one. We then went on to Carl sister's Brenda's house for dinner and fireworks with there friends and learned a new game called Ticket to Ride (one that we would like to own one day). The girls of course had fun playing with all of there cousins and want to live in Oregon so they can see them all of the time.

We then moved on to my side of the family for a week at Mercer Lake in Florence, OR. It is along the coast and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We went Kayaking on the Siltcus River which pops you out at the Ocean. It was hard work and windy but the girls really enjoyed it; although Kate slept through almost half of it. We then went on a dune buggy ride, rolled down the dunes at Honeymon Park into the lake, saw the Heceta Head lighthouse, and ate at McDonalds! The girls had a great time swimming at Mercer and Grace actually swam by herself (with the help of her life vest) across the swim area to the dock. It was a great day when she accomplished that and Laura got up the courage to try it the next day. They are now excited to start their swim lessons this week. After an 18 hour day of driving home we were glad to be back and return to normal. It was good to see everyone and they are being missed by us already.

Cool post! That's neat the two reunions magically arrange themselves back to back each year! They both sounded like fun. Cute pictures of your girls. So glad you made the BIG effort to come.

Love,
Grandma O.

Sounds like the fun didn't stop after you left Camp Alpine. Glad to see you made it back alright.

What a long trip. You guys back to normal yet? We all want you to live in Oregon, too.

Hurray for the girls swimming! It just takes time in the water to build confidence, which they got plenty of!
Great pictures. Thanks for posting!

I was tired just watching you watch your girls. It brought back memories of our kids when they were small -- very demanding but oh so cute -- just like yours. In the photo gallery it looks like Robin is trying to shoot the deer. Love you guys!!! Move to Bend!!!

Ah, the joy of the road trip with small children. I'm so glad we don't have to deal with that yet!

Hey Carl and family! I found your blog- this is a long story- by somehow finding Brenda's profile on facebook. Then she graciously let me be her friend so I could visit her profile. Then I saw she had a blog and checked it out. Then I found your families blog in the blog roll. So, now I get to add you to my blog roll. Just click on my link to see many pictures and updates of my family. Today's post is a little more personal, but the last few posts before that are full of pics of Randy, Rob and Kristi and their families. Here's to blogging!
