School Started

Grace started kindergarten on Tuesday and she is loving it. She didn't have any problems with wanting me to go in with her, she just lined up when the teacher came out and walked right in. Today when I dropped her and her friend Melissa off I didn't even need to get out of the car. They jumped out and ran to where they needed to line up. It makes me very happy that she is so excited to go. Kate however, was not so happy. She started crying and screaming that she wanted to go to preschool. I told her she had to wait until she was bigger but of course that didn't matter and she cried most of the way home. Laura has been in preschool for three weeks so far and she thinks it is great. They are learning about the letter C this week. The second week she was special leader because of her birthday so we made a big poster of pictures and I talked about her to the class for a few minutes. Then her classmates where able to ask her questions. I am having fun with just Kate two mornings a week and both Kate and Laura the other three. It was nice to go to the store with one kid and she didn't try to talk me into Lunchables or any other treats. I love school!

Way to go Grace! I remember when Neil first went to school he insisted I go with him and sit in the back of the room! After a couple of days of that the principle sat me down and said I had to cut the apron strings. So I did and he was fine after that. Probably it's a reflection on the mother's self confidence.

I'm so glad you posted that picture of you and Laura. It's excellent of both of you.

Love,
Janeil

I remember crying at recess. Dad wasn't much of one to encourage crying, but he really went out of his way to comfort me- by sending his handkerchief with me to cry into.

I love the Pipi-longstockings hair!

Good for Grace! She was ready for that--such a big girl.

I'm glad you're having fun with Kate. Maia is driving me up the wall. She doesn't love the one-on-one time, just wants her siblings home. I'll be glad for preschool in 8 days!!!

Good for you Grace. I remember my first day of kindergarten. I went in the front door and out the back door and beat my mother back to the house. I guess I thought she was getting rid of me or something. I'm glad you like school and I know you'll do great.
